The holidays are here. Black Friday is two days away. No doubt a few of you are going to be making technology purchases over the month or so because the deals are great. When purchasing a new PC or laptop you want to be sure you get a Professional or Business version of the operating system.
A lot of the computer deals we see in Staples, Best Buy, and Office Depot come with a home version of the operating system whether it is Vista or the new Windows 7. The home versions don't work well on your business network. The home versions have limitations that don't allow certain functions to interact with your sever and remote capabilities. Long story short, if you are planning on using a computer in your business environment don't get a home version of the operating system. These computers can be upgraded, usually for about $200 to $300 but that just ate the savings you got from the great deal.
My company, Little Pond Consulting, LLC is a Dell reseller. I can get great deals and make sure you get the right things with your new computer to ensure it will be happy on your business network. It will save you money in the long run. I am offering a free consultation to anyone with a business network that wants to possibly upgrade before the fist of the year.
Have a great Thanksgiving!
Patrick
