Saturday, August 15th. NICE JEWISH GIRLS GONE BAD RETURNS TO KINGSTON
SCHTICKING IT TO THE MAN SINCE 2003

Each performer of "Nice Jewish Girls Gone Bad" features a cornucopia of unconventional chosen chicks, a wicked combination of comedy, music, spoken word and show stopping burlesque ~ who have appeared on Comedy Central, HBO, MTV and major network television. These are the gals who learned to smoke at Hebrew School, got drunk at their Bat-Mitzvahs and would rather have more schtuppa than the chupah. These badass chosen chicks boldly dare to deconstruct years of tradition, expectations and guilt in a fast-paced vaudeville extravaganza. This ain't yo' mama's Fiddler!

After cruising the US for 6 years, last year Nice Jewish Girls Gone Bad opened at The Zipper Theater in NYC with a brand new show which received rave reviews - 3 stars- NY Post, Backstage called it "a spontaneous party" and the Village Voice said it was "super fun." This rendition of mishagas on wheels was directed by Michael Baron (Signature Theater, DC) and choreographed by Jessi Erian (Urban Bush Women and Adira Amram's The Experience). It's Faster Pussycat in the Borscht Belt, "Bei Mir Bist Du Schoen" gets remixed, Tumbalaika gets a makeover and we all find out what's in Gefilte Fish. But you certainly don't have to be Jewish to love these broads.

Nice Jewish Girls Gone Bad features comedian Cynthia Levin (Comedy Central), Ophira Eisenberg (Comedy Central) and booty shakin' by Sister Schmaltz and hosted by queen of the quick change, The Goddess Perlman (Last Comic Standing).

Nice Jewish Girls Gone Bad has been spreading their own brand of nuevo schmaltz across the land to sold-out crowds in NYC, DC, Baltimore, Boston, Philadelphia, Providence, Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Santa Cruz, Pittsburgh, Madison, Detroit, Montreal, Burlington, Provincetown, The Berkshires, The Hamptons, and of course, The Catskills. Audiences can't get enough of these wayward girls! Reserved seats $12 in advance, $15 at the door. 8:00PM

SATURDAY, AUGUST 22 The reunion of the 80's popular rock band – TALON.
If you're from the area, you may remember the Checkered Flag Lounge, where TALON was renown. They played all over the Hudson Valley though and were considered one of the best Rock Metal Bands in the area. All original tunes including the favorites ~ "The Hammer Will Fall" and "The Dangerous Prey". Bobby Weiss on vocals, Tom Jones on bass, Steve Haberstoh on drums and Bob Jones on guitar. The fans have been asking when there would be a reunion - well this is it!! Doors open at 8:00PM, $8.00 Music Charge. It's gonna be one hellava party!

SATURDAY, AUGUST 29th COPA IN THE CATSKILLS
A very special night in the tradition of the glamour of the Copacabana. The Copa closed its doors in 2007, but we're going to bring you the elegant ambiance and the experience of that Big Band sound ~ by bringing you TWO of New York City's greatest Latin Bands playing today, plus New York City's own DJ, Willie Castillo.

Frankie Morales and the Mambo of the Times Orquestra will be at BSP, squeezing us between his performance in the South of France and the Latin Jazz Festival in Medelin, Columbia. After spending years as a back up singer for Tito Nieves, Frankie was offered the job of Lead Singer for the orchestra of "El Rey Del Timbal", Tito Puente. He traveled the world with Maestro Puente and won Grammys for his involvement with the recording of "Tito Puente Mambo Birdland", and "Masterpiece", Puente’s final album in collaboration with Eddie Palmieri. Subsequently, after Tito's passing, he recorded "DanceMania" with Puente's band live from Club Birdland, which was also nominated for a Grammy. Frankie now plays all over the world, but his roots sprouted in "EL Barrio…..NYC", so he is excited about bringing his 11 piece band to headline this elegant Copa night of Latin Music.

CHARANSALSA. Ildefonso "Pito" Castillo was part of the Copacabana Orquestra for many years. There, he performed with some of Salsa’s greatest Latin singers such as: Andy Montanez, Ismael Miranda, Lalo Rodriguez, Cano Estremera, Hector Tricoche, Luisito Carrion, Valerie Capers and many more. Pito has traveled and performed throughout Europe and the United States. His 11 piece band, "Caransalsa" will be participating in Copa In The Catskills. The band plays swinging Latin Music for dancers and fans, rooted in tradition, yet influenced by modern Salsa. Flautist, trombonist and co-leader, Joe de Jesus has been a member of many of the Latin scene’s most prestigious bands. He has performed and recorded with Tito Puente, Ray Barretto, Celia Cruz, David Byrne’s Latin Band, among many, many, others. After 16 years living in England, Joe has returned to the New York Scene with Charansalsa, a new concept in Latin sound combining the best of Charanga and Salsa. Highly danc
eable with modern harmony and rhythms and that good old Latin swing, Joe says, Charansalsa is fresh and yet as comfortable as an old pair of dancing shoes.

Throughout the night and between sets, DJ Willie Castillo will be up high in a DJ booth on the other side of the dance floor spinning all the greatest salsa, mambo and latin dance tunes. Opening this special evening will be our own La Orquestra de Los Taino (THREE 11 PIECE BANDS...??!!). Plus! A free Salsa lesson will be given for all who wish to participate. Can’t miss this one!!
