- RNs by background, my wife and previously owned and operated a business for 22 years. During this time I experienced all of the pitfalls of hiring, training and firing staff, paying the wrong consultants, and dealing with the “stuff “ of business, including allowing my business to take over my life. I was married to my business and allowed my personal life to take a back seat for too many years. At a certain point, however, I realized that I was off-base – I discovered that business should support my lifestyle, not become my lifestyle.
As that realization took hold, I began to see that I was not alone. I found that many other small business owners were in the same boat with so many of us floating along thinking that it’s normal to lose the excitement and passion of our businesses as we give up our evenings, weekends, and family time. We struggle with the sense that there just aren’t enough hours in a day, or that we feel we have to do it all ourselves!
I've started on the road to recovery and want to bring others along with me!
Through this experience, I've become passionate about the need to use technology and outsourcing to enable small business owners to reclaim their lives and their passion while still maintaining the quality of their businesses.
As a result, my wife and I started Daybreak Virtual Office Solutions which is a provider of outsourced clerical, secretarial and administrative support for small business owners.
My wife, Valerie, and I have been married for 37 years and have lived in Esopus, NY for the past 35 years. We have 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren, and agree that grandkids really are among life’s best experiences – even better than the originals!
